Krka at a glance
Krka National Park is the most accessible waterfall park from the Dalmatian coast, about 1 to 1.5 hours from Split, built around the travertine cascades at Skradinski buk with boardwalk circuits and restored water mills. Adult entry runs from €7 in winter to €40 from June to September, with a reduced tariff after 15:00 in those peak months. The entry ticket already includes the boat from Skradin and the shuttle bus from Lozovac between April and October. Swimming is not permitted except where the park specifically designates it.

The afternoon tariff is the single most useful thing on this page. From June to September the park publishes a reduced price for entry after 15:00: €30 instead of €40 for an individual adult, €11.25 for children and for students, €22 for adult groups, and €11 for student and children's groups. In high summer that later slot is also thinner and cooler, so the cheaper option is the better experience as well. Most operators sell Krka as a morning and pay full tariff into the hottest, busiest hours.
Children under seven enter free. Students and Croatian mountaineering association members have their own lower band, and groups have theirs; both are set out in the park's published price list and we quote them against your party. Visitor insurance and VAT are included in the ticket. Roški slap, the second locality most itineraries add, is closed to visitors from November to March. On 1 January only the Lozovac entrance operates, on 24 and 31 December the park closes at 12:00, and it does not open to visitors on 25 and 26 December.
Group rules: three things that decide the rate

Minimum 20 people
Below 20 the group tariff does not apply and your party pays individual rates. For a 16-pax minibus programme, that changes the costing, so it is worth knowing before you quote.
Written notice, at least 24 hours
Prior written notification to the park is mandatory, and without it neither the group price nor the reservation is possible. This is the rule that catches groups who assume they can negotiate on arrival.
The guide goes free
The accompanying guide gets a free ticket on presenting valid accreditation. Cancellation is a minimum of 24 hours before the booked slot.
The park will also reserve additional services on request against its own tariff: boat excursions, boat or bus hire, and guiding, workshops and lectures. We submit the notification, hold the slot and handle the additional bookings as part of the ground arrangements, so your guide arrives with a confirmation rather than a hope.

Boat excursions on the upper river, including Visovac island, are priced separately from the entry ticket and are worth adding when the group has the time. Between November and March, with no boat and no shuttle, Krka becomes a short, quiet, cheap stop rather than a day out.
Swimming: what to tell clients
The park's own rules state that swimming is not permitted except at specially marked and designated places. That means whether bathing is possible at all, and where, is the park's decision for that season rather than a fixed feature of the destination.
So the honest position for a proposal is this: do not sell Krka on a swim. We confirm the current position for your travel dates, and if water is what the client actually wants, we will say so and route them to Kravice in Herzegovina, where swimming is permitted in season at the visitor's own risk. A client who was promised a swim at Krka and does not get one remembers that, and so does the advisor who sold it.
Skradin or Lozovac, and coach practicalities
Skradin
Arrive in the small town and take the included boat down the river to the falls between April and October. It is the better first impression and the version clients photograph. It costs more schedule flexibility, because the boat runs to its own rhythm rather than yours.
Lozovac
The shuttle bus runs on the same ticket inclusion and the walk at the bottom is shorter. For 40-plus pax, or a day with a hard end time, this is the controllable choice and the one we usually recommend for coaches.
Pacing for a coach group
Budget 3 to 4 hours in the park for a full coach, on top of the 1 to 1.5 hours each way. The boardwalk circuit is flat but narrow in places, so a large group spreads out and reassembling it takes longer than the walk itself.
Combining it

Do not sell a Krka programme on a swim. More than most itineraries realise. The ticket includes the boat transfer Skradin to Skradinski buk and back, and the bus Lozovac to Skradinski buk and back, both available 1 April to 31 October; and the bus from Laškovica to Roški slap, available 1 June to 30 September. It also includes visitor insurance and VAT. Boat excursions to Visovac and the upper river are priced separately.

At Skradinski buk: 09:00–16:00 in January, February, November and December; 09:00–17:00 in March; 08:00–18:00 in April; 08:00–19:00 in May; 08:00–20:00 from June to August; 08:00–19:00 in September; 08:00–18:00 from 1 to 15 October and 09:00–17:00 from 16 to 31 October. On 1 January only the Lozovac entrance is open, on 24 and 31 December the park closes at 12:00, and it is closed to visitors on 25 and 26 December.
Skradin if you want the arrival to be part of the experience, because the boat down the river is included in the ticket between April and October and it is the better first impression. Lozovac if the day is tight or the group is large, because the shuttle bus runs on the same inclusion and the walk to the falls is shorter. For a coach group, Lozovac is usually the more controllable option.
Krka is the closest major waterfall park to Split and comfortably a half to full-day excursion, unlike Plitvice which is a long day from the coast. Allow around 1 to 1.5 hours each way plus 3 to 4 hours in the park. Roški slap, the second locality most itineraries add, is closed to visitors from November to March.
Krka for a realistic day out of Split, better coach logistics and an included boat transfer. Plitvice for the bigger landscape if you have the hours and the client will accept a long day in the vehicle. On a seven-night Croatia programme with one waterfall day available, we recommend Krka from Split and Plitvice only from a northern base.
